Hi, I’m Alise Maes, founder of Maes & Bluey Tricks & Treats! Growing up surrounded by animals in the small town of Reading, Michigan, I developed a deep love for all creatures, big and small. My journey started on our family farm, where I cared for horses, dogs, and a variety of other animals. This early experience inspired a lifelong passion for working with animals, which eventually led me to pursue a career as a licensed veterinary Technician and certified professional dog trainer.

Before starting Maes & Bluey, I spent over a decade as a nurse, where I honed skills in patience, observation, and care—all of which seamlessly translated into my work with animals. After seeing the profound impact of training on the human-animal bond, I decided to dedicate myself fully to helping families and their pets thrive together.

At Maes & Bluey, I focus on positive reinforcement training to create happy, well-adjusted dogs and confident owners. Whether it’s addressing behavioral challenges, teaching basic manners, or mastering tricks, I work closely with each client to develop personalized training plans tailored to their unique needs. In addition to training services, I also offer in-home low-stress nail trims, and ear cleanings to ensure your pet feels great inside and out.

When I’m not training, you can find me enjoying time with my own beloved dogs, Bluey, Daisy, and Mac, being a mom, or playing my guitar. I truly believe every dog deserves a chance to shine, and I’m here to help you unlock your pet’s full potential.
